Lake Woerthersee fascinates its visitors with southern charm, crystal-clear
water and impressive mountain ranges.

cities such as the state capital Klagenfurt, Villach or St. Veit invite you to
stroll through the city. Visit theaters and museums.
Historic
sites are evidence of times long past. And the proximity to Italy and Slovenia
invites you to take a trip across the Austrian borders.

of lakes with clean drinking water quality invite you: for swimming, sailing,
windsurfing, water skiing, scuba diving, boating ...
Carinthia
is a golf country. Courses with spectacular holes are waiting for you. 5 golf
courses are located nearby. Within 10-25 minutes you can reach Koestenberg, Dellach,
Finkenstein.
A variety of hiking trails have been developed around Velden and the Lake Woerthersee. Family-friendly and leisurely walks as well as high alpine tours. For hikes at higher altitudes the nearby Karawanken, the Hohe Tauern (Grossglockner) and glacier areas are perfect. Some of the peaks are reachable by cable railway.

skating, skiing (Gerlitzen, Bad Kleinkirchheim, Katschberg, Nassfeld), cross
country skiing, tobogganing, curling – even in winter Carinthia is worth a
visit.
You
can reach many of the ski resorts within 60 minutes.
There
is a cross-country training center in nearby St. Jakob im Rosental.
